This year everything was different …
What a year! Traditionally, the upcoming holidays between Christmas and New Year‘s Eve are a time of deceleration, pause, reflection. Time for the family, time for oneself.
The sudden slowdown from spring and summer, that each of us experienced due to restrictions in private and professional everyday life and the unexpected challenges, worries or even (hopefully not for you) health related issues. And unfortunately fall did not bring any improvement either... on the contrary: a new lockdown restricts us all. Therefore it is still not clear yet how long this unusual situation for all of us will last until we can go back to normal “as before”.
… but also greener.
Nonetheless in every challenge there are new opportunities and so Lederer was able to commit greater resource to tasks that had already been started before and to implement them faster and more comprehensively than originally planned. For us, these tasks include energy transition, sustainability and climate protection.
In mid-October, 500 trees were planted as part of an initial afforestation on behalf of Lederer. Our partner PLANT-MY-TREE® implemented these sustainable tree plantings with a planned project duration of more than 99 years in Utscheid, Rheinland-Palatinate in the southern Eifel. During this time, there will be no deforestation or economic use of the area: Our next contribution to CO₂ compensation, to environmental and climate protection.

Excerpts from the Lederer sustainability concept
As a major consumer of electrical energy, we therefore switched to a provider of pure, certified green electricity in 2020, which enables us to reduce our CO₂ output by almost 400,000 kg annually. This year we also started to switch to hybrid and electric vehicles so that the company‘s own charging stations supply the vehicle fleet now exclusively with electricity from renewable energy sources. We do our utmost to work in a more sustainable and climate-friendly way.
Accepting responsibility.
For more than 50 years now, Lederer has been a responsible and family-run company and one of the leading suppliers of high-quality fasteners and efficient C-parts management in Germany and around the world. As well as the high quality of our products and services, our customers and business partners expect to see conduct that is law-abiding and upright in every way. To fulfil these expectations, we have decided to introduce a compliance management system. In this way, we intend to further strengthen the trust of our customers in us and our business relationships.
Acting with environmental awareness
This Code of Conduct defines the principles of Lederer GmbH and its employees, who are aware of it every workingday. At the same time, the Code of Conduct is also the basis for our suppliers with regard to their responsibility for their fellow men and the environment.
